I grew up in Kenya until I was 18. In 1973 I went to art school at the West Surrey College of Art and Design (WSCAD) in Farnham Surrey and graduated in 1977 having studied Fine Art Painting. In the past I have had work exhibited several times at the Whitechapel Open in East London, at the New Grafton Gallery, the Ashgate Gallery in Farnham, the Ashbarn in Petersfield and the Ogle Gallery in Cheltenham. I consider my work is fairly intimate and painted for a domestic setting. I am happy to take commissions, including portraits. This woman looks familiar to me. Is she from Flickr by chance?
Yes! Well spotted.I started off just sketching to try out my new pastels and I used V's self portraits to kick off with as the lighting and contrast was so nice. She kindly said I could post it here(although she hadnt yet seen it!)
I never forget a face. A curse because I always forget names.
I never do either-although there are some I wish I could!
